There’s a whole wide world of amazing places waiting to be discovered. And while each destination offers its own unique beauty and experiences they also come with potential dangers. But proper preparation and planning means you can relax and enjoy your trip. 

This means keeping safety in mind throughout the planning of your trip. When choosing an international location, be sure to check if the country you’re visiting has any travel warnings from the U.S. State Department.

Deciding on a location is just the first step. Do some research on which neighborhoods are safest, and plan your activities in those areas. Be mindful when selecting transportation and lodging accommodations as well. Remember to check reviews online to make sure businesses you’re visiting are legitimate. TripAdvisor is a great site to look up reviews and get an idea of what there is to do in the area.

If local laws permit you to, we highly recommend packing your self defense device. Keep it on your person in an easy to reach, safe location such as a holster, purse, or pocket. Be sure to keep the safety on to prevent accidental discharge. If you’re faced with a truly dangerous scenario, you can defend yourself without lethal harm.
